Description

History

The Mercedes 300 SE Cabriolet was launched on the market in February 1962 as the successor to the 300 Adenauer model series. Only a total of 708 Cabriolets were produced, as the purchase price was exorbitantly expensive and the number of buyers was correspondingly small. Mercedes equipped the 300 SE Cabriolet with all the technologies available at the time, including a light-alloy engine with intake manifold injection, 4-speed automatic transmission, air suspension with level control, disc brakes all round with pneumatic brake booster, self-locking differential, power steering, brake hold-down on the rear axle and much more. The luxurious and high-quality interior emphasized the noblesse of this noble, air-sprung convertible. Today, the Mercedes 300 SE is the avant-garde of the 111/112 convertibles, it is very rare and for connoisseurs the crowning glory of these timeless and elegant motor vehicles.

This Mercedes 300 SE Cabriolet was first put on the road in Munich before being imported to Switzerland in the early 1970s (Stamm 047.). This exclusive example was in family ownership for many years, where it was looked after and gently restored time and again. The owner of this convertible had his 300 SE completely restored in 2022 and 2023.

This example impresses with its originality and loving care history, which is documented in the original customer service booklet. The original operating instructions are also present, as are the repair and maintenance documents from previous years.
