History
The Daytona for the family was presented for the first time at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1971. Around 505 examples of this 2+2 seater were built in just under 2 years.
Underestimated for a long time, the GTC/4 has been experiencing an above-average increase in value for several years, pushing prices up to over CHF 400,000 - and rising.
The GTC/4 is often called “The best sounding Ferrari ever made”. Its 340 hp 4.4 liter V12 engine is not only powerful and a feast for the eyes, it also propels the beautiful coupé to a top speed of 260 km/h. The body was built by Pininfarina and completed at Ferrari's main factory in Maranello. Ferrari connoisseurs consider the 2+2 to be the best-driving classic V12 Ferrari ever built.
This example was first delivered in Switzerland in May 1972 and belonged to a renowned automobile collection in eastern Switzerland, where the 365 GTC/4 changed hands in the family 25 years ago. The unrestored example has undergone an extensive refit in recent years, during which the engine, paintwork and interior were professionally overhauled, revised and restored.
Bodywork and paintwork
The paintwork is in new condition after a professional and multi-layered preparation. The clean body has perfect gaps and only two small pressure marks, which will of course be corrected.
As this Ferrari has never been used for sporting purposes, the entire underbody and chassis are undamaged and completely free of damage.
Interior
The restored leather seats have the famous Connolly scent and are as good as new. The leather is undamaged, as are the panels, consoles and dashboard. Everything is in extremely well-kept condition. The power window motors still operate at around 70% and close cleanly. All operating functions are intact, the high-quality Becker radio is as good as new.
Engine and mechanics
The technology was completely overhauled for over CHF 60,000, the engine was completely overhauled at Ferrari in 2022. The starting behavior, warm-up characteristics and exhaust emissions meet the expectations of a 12-cylinder Ferrari. The gearbox and rear axle are noiseless and the gearshift is precise.
Chassis
The suspension and brakes were revised and tested on the test bench during the last veteran's inspection in May 2022. The original Cromodora alloy wheels have been restored and repainted. A brake inspection is carried out when the vehicle is purchased.
Driving experience
A Gran Turismo par excellence. The 365 GTC/4 is just as suitable for strolling around town as it is for long journeys to the most beautiful places in the world. This Ferrari is one of the most comfortable sports coupés of its time and impresses with its luxurious interior as well as its powerful 4.4 liter V12 engine with 340 hp.
Recommendation
The Ferrari 365 GTC/4 received little attention until around 10 years ago, as it did not exude enough sportiness in Ferrari circles and no chrome bumpers adorned the end of the beautiful bodywork.
The 2+2 Ferrari, which was only produced 505 times, has become much more famous in recent years due to the desire for valuable collector's cars, which is why the 365 GTC is once again highly prized.
With this example, the buyer not only receives a reliable, classic Ferrari, but also a collectible vehicle that has spent its past in a very well-kept and professional environment.
